Why do I need to link a bank account?
Linking your bank to Illuminate is important because it's where investments will get pulled from, and where withdrawals will go. Your banking login information is not stored or viewable by Illuminate. We will only save your primary bank account that will be used for your account. If you change your primary bank account, the previous one will not be saved or stored.
For New Members
When signing up for Illuminate and completing the onboarding process to open a brokerage account, you'll link your bank account. The initial setup requires:
- Your bank's routing number
- Your account number
Changing Your Linked Bank Account
To update your primary bank account:
- Navigate to the Profile tab in the bottom bar
- Select Settings
- Tap on Linked Banks
- View your current primary bank account
- Select Update Primary Bank Account
- Enter your new bank's routing number and account number
- Confirm your information
The system automatically verifies new bank accounts. If it does not verify for any reason, we will ask you to check your bank account for micro deposits and enter them via Profile, then Settings, then Linked Banks, then microdeposits.
